10 Days Uganda Primate Tours, Gorilla and Chimp Safaris in Uganda

Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 1: Entebbe International Airport - Kampala
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by a company representative will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on the time of your arrival, you will have a short city tour to visit the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Tombs; the traditional royal tombs of the Kabaka’s of Buganda, Rubaga & Namirembe Cathedrals before proceeding to your hotel.

MonkeysDay 2 : Kampala - Kibale National Park
After breakfast we will depart Kampala and head west to the tropical forest of Kibale National Park. Have a stop over at Fort portal town for lunch. Continue to the lodge, check-in and have an afternoon off relaxing.

Day 3: Kibale National Park
After early breakfast, your guide will take you for a guided walk in search of chimpanzees. The Chimpanzee tracking tours is adventurous and enjoyable as it takes you for a tour to over 15 primate species including the grey cheek and red tailed Mangabey, butterflies and a wide range of Bird species.

Day 4: Kibale National Park - Queen Elizabeth Game Park
Early morning after breakfast, continue with a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. A scenic view of the mystical Rwenzori Mt. Range and a game drive en route will reward you with a viewing tour of leopard, Spotted Hyena, lion, elephant, buffalo, bird species and primates.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Game Park
Have an early morning game drive will provide excellent opportunities to see buffalo, elephant, Uganda Kobs, antelope, Defassa Waterbucks, Spotted Hyena, leopard, lion as well as bird species. In the afternoon, have a boat ride to Kazinga Channel, which is an excellent platform for game viewing, bird watching and photography.

GorillaDay 6: Queen Elizabeth Game Park - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Following a morning breakfast, we will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the southern sector of the remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park known as Ishasha, famed for its tree-climbing lions. It’s a beautiful sight to see the lions draped from the trees and we will see hippo, buffalo and topi among other species. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have early morning breakfast and after a short briefing by the guides, proceed through the undergrowth and thick creepers of the dense rain forest for the gorilla tour. Only a few of these Gentle giants have been habituated for humans to visit, making tracking of these elusive apes in their natural habitat both a privilege and an adventure. You will also have an opportunity to view other wildlife including primates, butterflies and Birds. After 1 hour allowed with the giants, return to the lodge.

Chimp and youngDay 8: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Kampala
After a morning breakfast, we will return back to Kampala with a rewarding drive en-route with a stopover at the Royal Drums Makers and the Ugandan Equator, where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir. With lunch on our way we will reach Kampala by the end of the day.

Day 9: Kampala - Ngamba Island - Entebbe
After Breakfast, depart for a visit to the island of the chimpanzees, a home to 39 orphaned chimps. Have a 45 minutes boat ride on Lake Victoria, and on reaching Ngamba Island, you will be given a short introduction and briefing on the sanctuary at the visitors centre to learn more about the chimps and their lifestyle. You will be able to view and photograph these fascinating apes in their natural environment at the viewing platform, and watch them feeding and grooming from only a few metres away. In the afternoon you will take a boat ride back to Entebbe and return to your hotel.

Day 10: Departure
With an unforgettable memories and experience of a lifetime, your guide will take you to the Airport for your departure flight.
